Bought a dual set of smh10 following this thread and an impending trip to Norway with the misses on the back. Excellent service with them arriving very quickly! They fire up with no problems. I updated the firmware and now the work a treat with my iPhone 4s and even with Siri!

Very impressed!

Thanks twowheeltrekkers!

Dan, Glad you got them ok and all is working, after reading your post I had to look up Siri on google as I had never heard of it, I knew that you could use voice activation to dial numbers etc on your phone just did not know it was called Siri !

Dan how did you update them? I have a lap top is it easy to do for a computer bumpy like me is it self explanatory. Ta

If you get on to the sena website and you can register the devices. This then give you access to the software that completes the updates. It is then fairly simple if you follow the on screen instructions.

Hope this helps

Hi Folks. I have had to put the price of a Sena SMH10 dual set up by £10 so the dual set is now £260 for the pair, the single is still £150. it is still the cheapest price in the UK even on ebay for a UK supplied and thus guaranteed set.

I also have the SMH5 in single and dual sets for £89.99 & £169.99 and I also stock and sell the Interphone range of intercoms and accessories.

This link will take you straight to the online shop Sena page http://www.adventurebikeshop.co.uk/brand-manufacturer/sena

The main difference is the range is about 900 - 1000 metres on the SMH10 where as the range on the SMH5 is only about 400 metres also as Georgeeboi says the battery life is longer on the SMH10 (SMH10 -10 hours SMH5 - 8hours) and conference call facility, for bike to bike the SMH10 is better, for rider to pillion with occasional bike to bike the SMH5 will be good enough for most riders.

We sold and fitted about 10 of the Sena SMH10 intercoms recently, It all get very confusing as they were paired in various groups of 4, and as one turned his intercom on another did the same and as a result turned them all off again ! it got very confusing, I am sure they will work it out and come up with a system so that they don't keep turning each other on or off

If anyone out there has experience of using these in groups of more than 4 i would be interested in getting some feedback.

Bloody lucky I ordered mine last Saturday, they arrived am today, thanks for the prompt service.
Mind you the wife is under pain of death or being dumped at the side of a Belgian motorway if she starts singing whilst they are switched on !!!!!!

Hi Neil, yep you got your timing right, I had a call from them yesterday telling me off for offering to supply at the old price until Sunday, I have pointed out that two days notice is not long, people will wait until they have the money to buy them and lots of people get paid at the end of the month so I think it is only fair to give a reasonable warning of the impending price rise.

They are not at the full retail on my website and an my eBay pages so if you want one at the old price give me a call before Sunday, from Sunday on it will be full retail with free postage.

It's a shame they're not as speedy (in my experience) in dealing with customer enquiries/complaints....!

Good product but they could do with some people skills!

I must say that the few sets that have failed or had problems with have been sorted out within a few days, the biggest problem is that they like to have the product back before replacing it though I have sometimes just replaced an item and then sent it back to them as the fault has been obvious even to me !

I thought it was illegal to enforce RRPs.

As far as I know if there is fair competition then the manufacturer has the right to set a reasonable price and decide who to supply, there are plenty of other intercoms out there and to be honest the Sena still represents excellent value at full retail price.

The Sena was easily the best of the Bluetooth comms in the recent Ride mag test and this is one of the main reasons that they have decided to enforce the retail price, they feel that sales will go up anyway because of the recommendation of Ride mag, I think they are probably right especially as the Sena SMH10 resoundingly beats the much more expensive Cardo Rider G9.

They are perfectly entitled to set a RRP - the clue being 'Recommended' BUT enforcing this is a big no-no as that would be deemed as price fixing. That is anti-competitive behaviour which the OFT would probably be very interested in :type

Of course you will proabaly find that you will no longer be able to get stock from the distributer for some strange reason! .... :blast
