Hi folks have just joined the site tonight as I am about to book onto a trip with discoverymototours, I did a search through the site and found some mention of them of a while back. Has anybody used them and especially for the morocco trip. Greatly appreciate any feedback.

Hi jaymac

Wellcome to the Forum :thumb2

Can't say I've heard of them myself but if you hve any problems or are unsure try our very own Moto Morocco it's a wee company set by up one of our Forum member's,click on the ad at the side of the forum it'll give you a contact No.
If that doesn't suit you there is another company by the name of Wildcat Tours that do Morocco both outfit's get good write ups.

Hope this is of some help.

Hi, I took a Discovery Moto Tours one week tour of southern Thailand from Phuket finishing on Christmas eve, wasn't cheap but you stayed in top hotels and paid only for your alcohol, everything else was all in, you were well looked after. It was mainly roads but there was some light trail riding through the national park and rain forest and an unintentional off-road jaunt when we tried to reach the highest point on Koh Samui, unfortunately we didn't make it. Their bikes were all 2007 R1200GS and they also rent them on a by day or week basis, I did the shorter tour without all the island visits as I just wanted to ride. Had a good time and rounding a bend and coming across 6 elephants in the road was a highlight. Would I go with them again, yes I would and probably to Morocco next time.

Myself and my wife have had a Discovery Moto Tour booked for 18 months to do Thailand this Christmas. We have been really looking forward it, we have made many sacrifices over the last 2 years to be able to afford it - INCLUDING ME SELLING MY OWN 1200GS AND DOWNGRADING TO A HONDA!

After clawing the money together, we contacted them last week to pay the balance, only for them to advise us they have not been able to fill the tour. They wanted an extra £1500 from us to do it, or they would cancel it. We have had to cancel it. VERY VERY ANNOYED AND DISAPPOINTED WITH THEM!!!

At least they let you have the option. Many tour operators would've snaffled your final payment and then gone into liquidation. I assume they returned your deposit?

Unfortunately, in current circumstances, many people will default on trips booked this far ahead as they simply cannot raise the cash. Getting annoyed with this tour operator is futile - you and they are both victims of circumstances beyond your control.

Whilst I understand that missing this trip is disappointing, look at the situation as an opportunity to plan another trip.
