Hi i want to cut open and butcher internals of the colector box on my gs1100 for purpose of making the bike louder'
I cannot find anything on doing this , can anyone help please'
she,s non cat , by the way

Because it's a baffled silencer and weighs a tonne AND it's a shedload of work!

When there's a Better easier way Get a link pipe bent up or make one and get an after market can and do it that way

I've done a couple that way now

Me exhaust

Call me puddled but I like the look of the standard exh and I,m not woried about the wieght I ride slow anyway so wouldn,t notice a lighter one .
Its the quiteness of it , scary, louder is safer.

I'm a bit baffled at why you'd want to. I always liked the appeal of a 'stealth bike' that could knock along pretty well without drawing too much unwanted attention.

If you're after a bit of noise to make it safer, then you can use the button on the LH bar that BMW have thoughtfully put there to make the bike louder when you really do need to draw attention to yourself.

Seriously, once you cut or drill the exhaust you're going down a one way street, and you may find the constant noise a bit tiresome if you're just pottering about.

Leave stealth to them military lunatic,s
When I am coming down the outside lane in any trafic conditions I have found it to be a masive advantage if the bike is on the louder side as drivers are more aware of me neer and dont carelesly change lanes '
Bin a few wiped out with that one
If going through a quiet vilage eas off the gas and not so loud really , I used to have a rs 1000 boxer with straight through pipes sounded biutifull and I could ride past police no bother you just have to work it right with the throtle and gears.
Hura , away the lad,s
