Do 2015 bikes have a less clattery engine than my 2013 ?

Why are the hex head engines quieter than the LC ones?

Another question for the experts - does a Hilltop tune reduce the engine clatter (people do say that it makes the engine smoother)?

Now there is a controversial question :D oh dear!

It is quite noisy but no noisier than other bikes I've owned. Makes a racket coming to an abrupt stop though, i think the oil flies forward in the engine?

Sitting astride my Harley with pushrods flying up and down, the GS seems the epitome of quiet precision engineering :D:D

There's a rumour going round that Touratech have gotten hold of an old fashioned tea cosy and are developing it as a slip on noise reducing jacket for the WC. :D

A number of designs will be made available for the fashion concious man about town. :thumb

They are noisy.

I suspect it's the 1052 moving parts being motivated by 2000/4000 or so explosions every bloody minute.......it's an internal bloody combustion engine!!!

Volkeswagon may have a software fix lurking in the background.

A Honda V4 probably has more moving parts with cam driven gears but you don't hear them rattling like a bag of spanners at idle.

The only bike that sounds worse to me is a Ducati with a dry clutch.

Yes, that's for sure.......but we buy bikes to ride them!

Sure they are all different.

But bikers discuss how they are different to ride ...... OK , I'm in that frame of mind......oh, my bike is more quiet than yours, fanah, fanah.

Hand grenades this way.

Stick some earplugs in and just ride the bloody thing. Stop worrying about rattles and noises, it's a GS - they all clatter.:rob
