i have a gs 1150 adv, thinking of changing to a gs 1200, any of you guys done the same thing, is it the right decision. any help would be appreciated,thanks.

Depends, the 1200 is probably a better bike. But it might not be better for you.

I've had a 1100, 1150, 1200Gs and hope to pick up the new to me 1150 Adv tomorrow On balance I think the 1150 style of doing things suits me better. It's very subjective I know but I seem to be able to change gear better with the old box, it has more lower down grunt which I like, and the climb up to the pillion set is a lot better than the 12.

If you can, I'd try a 1200 for at least a couple of days before swapping!

I have the 1100 & 1200 gs & it's the 1200 i like best .BUT they are very different bikes ,like he said get a good test ride

Go ahead get the 1200 it's a much better bike - you know it makes sense!

Sounds like you need to get a ride on the new Adv 1200????

just fancy a change really , quite like the thought of the bike being much lighter , would like to do a few trails on it , being used to ktms etc. nothing wrong with the adv ,good bit of kit, in a ideal world i could have the 1200 as well but already have a few bikes, i also hate parting with them its like you lost your foot or something, oh well will have to read a few more write ups to convince myself. quite like the hp2 as well with sticky supermoto tyres and wheels. thanks
