Do you remove vario panniers overnight?

Oil, oh here we go

I think what we all need is a good old oil thread, so what oil do you keep in your panniers ? and do you remove the oil from them or just take them off when you park up ? :D

Jesus - what a bunch of tossers some of you are! Why the barrage of abuse and level of sarcastic drivel??

Quite simply I was interested in your informed opinions as to whether you used pannier bags or remove the box itself (which it's clearly designed to do in seconds). Is that too much to ask?? Having spent the last five days getting p155ed on back through France the boxes just felt like hard work so I was looking to gauge what most of you do (which clearly is leave the boxes on) whilst raising the subject of security. Not because I'm paranoid or full of worry - just that I don't know! If the question is percieved as naive by the experts out there then why not use your opinion more productively?

Continue with the schoolyard mentality of pointless abuse if you wish but at least be somewhat subjective??

Thanks to those who understood the simple nature of my question

I was told by the BM insurance people that they only covered accessories that had BM part numbers. Got a bit of huffing and puffing when I asked about the tyres etc :blast

Er, please Miss, since when have tyres for motor vehicles been accessories?

Every time I see the title of this thread I think of that song "Does Your Chewing Gum Loose It's Flavour On The Bed Post Overnight"

You're not the only one:

I'm beginning to loose the will to live. What I regarded as a reasonable question, has turned into a saga.

What is worse, not knowing and asking, or not knowing and not asking?

Got to be the best thread of the year so far in this spangley woeful corner of the forum :clap

It's a jungle out there!

Hope you don't have BMW Insurance, Tom:augie

Because your panniers won't be covered by them:blast

I have to check, they might.

Although I was highlighting they cover BMW branded panniers as they regard that as manufacturer's official add on. So my BMW top box should be ok.

Anyway .. I don't seem to be able to give away the bike :(
