I've thought about this

and of course it's simple, if everyhting got all mixed up why have two exits for number 1's and 2's.... it would be more efficient to mix it all up... and only dump from exit... but we don't so there must be a mechanism separate tea into wee and sausages and solids into logs.... ergo things go in... in order and come out in order....!
