Verden area Plon and Stralsund areas Richard.
Think you have mentioned one of them from a magazine you get.

Thank you.

Very different to the rest of Germany and not so often visited by Brits.

The whole Baltic coast from Lubeck through to Stralsund is nice and very popular with Germans. If you are lucky, high pressure and good (ie. hot) weather settles over the Baltic for weeks. I was in Stockholm / Helsinki (not a million miles away) one July, when they were both hotter than Athens.

Not least, the whole area used to be in the former East Germany, so before the wall fell, few bods from the west ever visited.

Germany - the most underrated biking country I’ve ever visited.

And yet there’s posts to say that it’s not. There again, France and Belgium are also written off in some quarters, so make what you will of that.

Me? I like the place, as it’s so different top to bottom, east to west. That, and because it’s generally now cheaper than France and closer (at least for chunks) than Spain.

it helps if you have a bit of imagination and avoid the bits full Brits on a GS!

get away from the Rhine and Mosel basins.

Indeed, some many autobahns means there are thousands of quiet ‘candystripes’ to gallop along.
