Doc does Cochem, who’d like to join him?

Five weeks on Sunday for me.
Now when do we start the Doc and guests does Cochem trip report 🤔
The Captain is waiting for it.

Sadly Johnnyboy who was coming with his friend now can't make it.

New rhs lower fork leg bushes and oil seal fitted and oils and filter changed and chain adjusted; now all ready to head to mainland Europe to meet a bunch of reprobates! (I'll pack my painkillers[for both reasons]).
Speaking of such - Doc what spares do I need to carry for you? What bike will you be on (this is a GS forum remember)?

If anyone wants a copy of the RdGA map let me know please as I still have a few copies available!
I plan doing it South to North on my way home this year. I've always done it North to South so I thought I'd do it differently this year!😎😎😎😎

Well I could

But I won't and I'll be on the Harley.
Let's not mention spares, breakdowns or anything like that as I don't want to be cursed.

Good news Johnnyboy is back on board.
Hopefully I can get his room back but plenty of other places to stay if not so if anyone has any recommendations just in case.

Couple of alternatives just in case I can't get you back in.
Ralf used to own this one and me and Bob have stayed before.

Also one of the lads is staying here very near us.

I should find out today and ring you later John.
There are a couple more hotels that other lads are staying in the centre of Cochem with secure bike parking but I would have to find out the names of them.

Bugger Ralf is now full so back to the drawing board.

Instead of doing my usual stop at my daughter's in Edinburgh and then a 450 mile slog to Folkestone area I thought, because I'm still not sure how my shoulder will hold up, I'd split the long haul in two and stop near Durham or Darlington (assuming I can make it to there fine). Any recommendations, other than a Premier Inn (which is also fine by me)?
TIA

I stayed here in 2017

Great location but not the best #BMSPWBIF as it was a private parking lot about 300 metres up a hill

When do you go Iain ?
Currently, I plan to leave on Friday 13th and, maybe, overnight near Darlington then head to Ashford, Kent for the Saturday night. Sunday night I hope to stay in Ribeauville then visit Chateau de haut Koenigsbourg on Monday then on to Cochem.
If it pisses rain then I'll need a plan b!
