(although personally i'd avoid the conniston / bowness / ambleside / grassmere region at the weekend (if you're still there) as there is much better riding to be had in cumbria than the central areas)

Coniston Best bitter, or Coniston 'Bluebird' are a decent enough choice. Should be easy to find in that part of the world... Brewed at the Black Bull pub in the town IIRC....
