After reading a suggestion from Wapping last year we set off on Sunday to visit the area.

Weather is looking good for Sunday so we will do our usual coastal run over to Whitby and follow the coast down to Hull for the ferry to Rotterdam.

First day a ride of about 350 miles to our first hotel for a couple of nights suggested by Wessie. Cheers pal

So another area of Germany to visit and as always the forum comes up trumps for our bike trip holidays so thanks. And somewhere probably not much visited by you lads. A bit like Wangerland.
As per usual my trip report will be a very in depth report with lots of information as we go along.
Or just some pics of beer, scenery and grub and picnics out with flask at the ready. Oh and the odd glass of Rose.

Not sure if I recommended this in the prep thread, but a fairly short outing from the hotel on the River Main is to ride through the Tauber valley to Rothenburg ob der Tauber. We parked here which has marked bike bays. https://maps.app.goo.gl/ArJLFuCr5ZP12qT76

Short walk into the main historic centre if you go through the city walls. We walked to the Market Platz for kaffe and kuchen (an excellent rhubarb tart) and gawp at the pretty buildings https://maps.app.goo.gl/mLHqHka2xnNM5ULY6

We just set the satnav to no motorway and used a couple of different routes there and back - google offers 3 https://maps.app.goo.gl/XGxXtEWYZEJD1yk5A from 100km each way.

Nearly at Whitby. Had to have an emergency stop. Something was tickling my ear. Pulled over and a bloody big moth in my helmet
