Doc does Spain with our lass

But you're not the boss remember.... you're the chauffeur :D

Show her this, much better than that old relic at Clun.

I ain't mentioning it unless you have her number 😏 next stop she wants to visit Much Wenlock after that I fancy a beer.

well, £15 each

this disease is spreading across Spain as well now. At least half of the hotels I used last May/June were charging extra for breakfast. Typically 10 to 15 euros but more in a Parador, usually 20 euros, although I often select the half board rate.
Usually Spanish hotel breakfast are pants. I always go to the cafe next door . Well used to more like ...

Clun is lovely. I ride there via Abermule, over the Kerry Ridge, Newcastle and to the little car park with picnic area by the river. Cake shop by the bridge is nice then sit by the river

Assuming there is a cafe next door.
I’ve generally found Spanish hotel breakfasts pretty good . Often better than French offerings .
Here’s just one of the tables at Hotel Del Oso

Though we haven’t done it for years as usually too full from previous night so have their ‘Express’ breakfast on terrace consisting of toast and preserve, cake , orange juice and coffee.

I used to cycle down there when I was a kid. 25 hard miles from Pontesbury with only Sturmy Archer gears ...

I was in Pontesbury one day. I went there the conventional way from Welshpool, via Middletown and Westbury. On the way back I let the satnav loose. That was an interesting journey over Long Mountain and down through Welsh Harp Hollow to Buttington

not quite, you should be crossing the Kerry Ridge at Dolfor a little further west. You will bypass Abermule village as you go to Newtown.

The Kerry Ridge is 15 miles long from Newtown to Bishops Castle so you can cross it at several points. There's a "Way" across the top but I don't think much of it is open to vehicles.
