A group of us got thrown out of that bar, on the junction @ Ojedo...... in 1997

It was a great night and the Geordies in our group were drinking the local Spaniards under the table, the proprietor thought the substantial bar bill wouldn't be paid by the 'engleesh' and suddenly a few local heavies turned up and looked menacing, the bar bill was paid and we were ejected by these henchmen and we wandered back to the Infantado

yes, the area south of Ponferrada has been burning for a long time. Some great roads there that are still closed e.g. road to Truchas over Puerto los Portillinos

I think the rainfall will run along the coast before heading here leaving the fires with just high winds related to the depression, pretty much the worst scenario.
Meanwhile if half the mud being slung at each other by the politicians were slung at the fires they'd be smothered by now ...
