We stayed in Salamanca but not Burgos . I’ve been to Burgos though .
Can’t remember name of Salamanca hotel . Will try find it .

Used Abba Hotels a lot prior to covid, not as much character being a chain but great as a base
Very nice, gated underground parking. Small indoor pool with outside sunbeds in enclosed area.
Close to the Cathedral and central Plazas
Lots of medieval architecture
Nice places to ride out to but it's a lot flatter than the Picos etc

Biggles has made a pretty good suggestion for the entire jaunt.
Indeed he has, besides doing research to suit Doc' and Boss' personal interest and plans, there is very little one can ask for more.
Looking at a very simple map that Biggles has come up with & to give Doc an idea, I would be tempted to head towards northern Portugal from Potes, then cut across into Spain and onto Salamanca.
If Portugal is no good, The head to Leon or a bit further south from Potes before going to Salamanca, as it is from memory a fair old distance between the two locations.
