Hi,

I've installed my autocom and I am now in the process of making up a bracket for a PTT button and I was wondering if it actually has to be a proper waterproof button.

I was thinking of getting a push to make switch like this:

maybe putting some sort of silicon around the connectors and then heat shrinking it. Would this work or am I going to have to get something a bit more robust?

This, also from Maplin, might be more appropriate - albeit expensive. I did use the splashproof one myself for a while and it was fine even without silicone protection etc. Midland radios have a small rubber one that I'm currently using (I think Ebbo has a picture of it on his site fixed to the clutch lever adjuster)
