I'm inclined to keep it pretty much standard, it seems pretty ok to me, out of the box

It came with a TT lightguard and shroud and RG swingarm protector

Only things i'm adding is a TT centre stand cover and some Wunderlich frame protectors (to save the paint)

Apart from that....... the seat/screen/ exhaust/ESA suspension/Lights/Panniers and Racks seem to be A1

Can't see the point of adding useless weight to the thing

Just going to ride it:thumb

Do you agree or what worthwhile thing have you done to yours?

cover

johnny are you putting or have you put the starter motor cover on your bike ,just wondering :bounce1garbo:bounce1

Not bothering........

Does it need it??

Can't see it when I'm riding it and can only see it's missing when i'm on my hands and knees cleaning the bike

So I'll save the weight:augie

HID's not only to see with-but to make YOU easier to see by others ;)
Stebel horn to replace the puny pizza bike standard offering ;)
Remus headers-save some weight and release hidden power :D
Anything else is just bling and is subjective, unless it's side panels or some tasteful stickers :augie

Yawn, I'm off to me bed...

Well i for one fully agree with you Richie,

In fact i would not even of bothered to fit the parts that you have already mentioned.

As you say, just ride the thing and enjoy.

Chunk's centre stand cover is far superior to the TT one and cheaper:rob

yep - a 2008 brand new motorcycle will need a £700 quid odd set of pipes and silencer :mmmm.

why not change the wheels - i'm sure they're not bling/black/purple/round enough.

oh - a set of £1000 boxes to make it useless in traffic - but great for tesco

some thing to make this brand new bike capable of being ridden in the dark.

they're good, aren't they . ?

C'mon JB - get real - spend it on the missus

That's the answer i'm looking for:thumb2

It really needs nothing much, well not permanent

I'm doing nothing then

Wilbers suspension is very nice. And if you ever want to sell your bike, you can remove the shocks and fit them to a new bike, or sell them.

So you've found perfection at last then, something that cannot be improved upon and it's called a 1200GS! Well done :thumb

Wonder if you'll feel the same the next time you ride at night,or the next time you want to blast at some dozy twonk with your horn ....... Happy riding JB :D

OkI just got my new one today, and I already know what I will not put on my GS...

- Exhaust. They have improved the sound of it. A lot. Not too sure I will put my Leo Vince on my new bike, I kind of like it like it is.
- Horn. They also improved the sound of it. It seems that I will not be able to install my Stebel anyway. Not too sure I need it anyway.

I will still install a few things :

- I find that the bike leans A LOT on the side stand. I will have to do something about it (any idea ?)
- headlights, as always shitty. Glad I have a meeting scheduled with Les next week :)
- Touratech xenon and fog (overkill I know, but I like the mean look it gives to the bike, and I use a flasher with the xenon in order to move cars away :) )
- Givi Maxia (as always, with the new ugly but efficient top case support)
- 1200GSA screen and winglets (I can't remember the right name, windlets ?)
- Touratech Rider 1 GPS support (coming from my old bike)
- Black H&B + bmw plastic cylinders protection (coming from my old bike)
- Reyno radiator grill (new, as long as Les can deal with it)
- K&N filter after the first 1000 kms (old but refreshed)
- NM transparent plastic protection
- wunderlich "cheap cruise control" (from my old bike)

Not much more...

Best thing you can do is fit some off-road tyres & get it drity

But most don't :augie can't under stand why they buy an adventure bike:nenau

really hope you enjoy :thumb2

looking at the threads here - i think the only thing it'll need that it hasn't already got is one of those there plastic tool tubes :D ( or maybe two )

Dahoum will cut up an old front door mat for you to wrap around the back wheel if you ask him nicely.

serious bling
