We all know the old bike had problems - corrosion and a duff bevel box design being two of them. Question is, have BMW done a better pre production testing exercise on the new bike? Better paint protection? A design of bevel box that doesnt eat bearings?
Or have they just swapped bevel box problems for gearbox problems? Should I stay with the old design or upgrade?

9,000 miles since March 2nd and no regrets, it is a significant step up on the old bike, which is excellent, the new one is just better.


The basic bike is cheaper and will always sell on later, but at a relative value compared to a TE. There probably won't be much in it either way TBH, so get what YOU want, with the options that you will use.
