I had my G650GS in for a 6000 mile service. Rode it home 10 or so miles on the Friday. Rode 3 miles into work on Monday and thought it sounded odd. Tried to ride the three miles home that night and it cut out three times, the third time the odd ticking noise had become a really bad clunking so I got it recovered to the dealers.
Apparently the big end has gone - the cause, I am told, is because the circlip has come off the oil pump causing it to fail. The dealer claims this is 100% coincidental to having it in for a sevice, even though I have ridden less than 20 miles since they stamped the service book and it sounding different when I rode it away to when I took it in.
Any thoughts?
