I'm confused

all the blurb was turnout the S1000XR came with panniers in SE spec but was looking at them in local Motoradd dealers and they say they don't.

can someone confirm they do or don't.

The SE comes with pannier frames and top box rack ready for the panniers and box to fit

Yep they are an extra and a somwhsat confusing one as i have been told by one dealer that they are £700 and by another that they are £1400 !

Haha, nearly fell off my chair laughing that someone thought something would come free :D

The only thing that's free is the bigger than expected invoice :blast

I was told by sales 3 boxes cost £1200 the parts fella quoted me something different, for the panniers in racing red £254 per side +vat before discount (not sure if that includes locks) Germany had right in stock but no lefts !!

Cannot understand why there more expensive then vario's, varios are much better in design and function .

This German site:http://www.bmw-motorrad-store.co.uk/bmw/motorcycle-luggage/s1000xr.html has them for £445.41 a set, including locks and 'fixings', but without frames, including VAT without shipping.
They have the top box for £261, inner bags £72 each and frames for boxes for £125.
A tiny tank bag is £143.

I think I'd rather get a Kriega 30 plus 2 20s on the back, and a Kriega 20 as a tank bag. BMW's boxes are 90 litres plus 15 for the tank bag, Kriega is 90 including the tank bag, but you could strap another bag on top of the 30 if you really need to.

Test ride for me on saturday morning.......

Pick up on Saturday bit of a problem getting the luggage seem to be two weeks off cost £650 fitted.

cost £650 fitted.

Fitted ! So they remove the panniers out the cardboard boxes and manual carry them to the bike and place on rack and press the catch down, I just hope they never charged you for the so called fitted part.

Not a bad price I was expecting higher, not that they will be worth a higher price. Will have to order a set as soon as I know my VIN number
Thanks Terrry

Panniers

who thinks that the top of the range xr should come with a set already fitted. give it 6 months bet they will be chuckrd in as the hype had died down. no adjusting clutch lever seems very unlike bmw. rant over had a test ride best bike ever ridden.:clap

I don't think they should come as standard. Why should they?

Now, decent clutch and brake levers on the other hand....

They would have to pay me to have panniers on a bike. Good top box and roll bag or Ventura kit is all you need and it doesn't need that god awful bent bit of black tubing they call pannier frames.

Exactly.:thumb A Kreiga US10 for one night, or a US30 for two or more. You can strap one to the other for longer trips as well.:beerjug:

And they look good (pannier frames are coming off this week, once I get some blanking bolts!).:D

Looks nice but needs a RED mudguard I think I'll be taking my pannier frames off (cleans the back end up) and refit when I stick the panniers on, the rails ain't lookers

How much was the red mudguard? That could look good.:thumb

Re the pannier frames, you need some blanking blots, so I'll find out what size, and check if I have some in my box of nuts & bolts, before I take them off.

Mudguard £100

I think BMW do little black plugs for the pannier frame holes.
