(LAUGHING)- Nah I bet mine looks worse than yours- I have lived on it for the last 16months- hoachin' wi stickers and corroded to buggery! Looks like something out of mad max! Hey we should have a "who's bike looks more used" photo session! RUST NEVER SLEEPS!:mcgun

Reminds me of the time I was up the west end in Glasgow a month or so back, Byres Rd. I seen a guy get off an immaculate black 1150 ADV, they had all the BM gear on, the bike him and his missus were pure pristine, gleaming. She got off and was shakin her hair, looking in the windows etc. I was waiting across the road trying to find a space, I seen them and nipped over to park. I got off my lovely slightly soiled bike with my 'travelled in' gear on and they both looked like they were about to throw up, LOL  :bounce1

LOL:D I spend most of my time blasting up and down the A9 or A82 other than that I am out in the highlands and islands- The road salt was so bad this year that my black streetguard 2 gear was completely white with road wash- plus mud, flies, roadkill- nice to know the kit lives up to it, Last winter I managed to get frost-bite on my face!!! again nice to know that the GS can handle wheel deep snow, even when fully loaded with panniers...ya canny whack it

This bike looks like it's never been used! (I post a photo of mine soon)

That would be my cycle and it has been used and abused 5000 miles on it and yes it would be clean,,,,,,,,,,all the time

Im a total muppet when it comes to cleaning it or my other bikes, thats the way i have always been with any off my bikes and to be honest its a real pain in the ass.
That Akrapovic system has twenty thousand miles on it, has been all round europe pissing people off and making cage drivers jump when u pass them.
Oh it gets dirty, but i use it, not in the salt mind.

Where did you get your BMW cap for the bit that BMW forgot? I wish I could clean like you do- infact I will try from now on- another question: do the standard BM panniers fit over the Akro double pipes?

Regards

There is something amiss

Are you sure that 'they all do that, SIr'? My 1200GS has never done it and having in my youth blown a few silencers apart I prefer normal behaviour.

I was walking around Filton last Thursday and a tosser in fluro yellow passed me on a 12GS slowing for the traffic lights..........it backfired just like my 12GSA.

I reckon they all do it:nenau

Every 12 I’ve ridden has popped on overrun! I’m sure it’s the result of poor fuelling & not valve timing issues (inlet\exhaust open together). Maybe it’s the only way BMW can get an air cooled twin motor to run on any type of petrol and stay within the emissions??

tyres

Steve, are they BT014 you've got you your shiny GS?

Terzi
Yes BTO 14s and i think i might run the Metzeler sportec 3 this summer as the profile is off a more rounded pattern on the front tyre.
They were good on my Boxercup i liked them and they were only sportec ones.

steve

Mine's an '04 and it never used to "pop" on the overrun until the software was updated during the service in October;now it does - severely!
