Does yours rattle a bit?

I'm getting a slight sound like timing chain but been told it's normal, does yours do it?

yup sounds like a bucket of spanners, just over 4k miles and goes well . I think the alloy sump guard helps echo noise back at ya.. it makes my aircooled ducati sound smooth. K60s dont help as the vibe like mud terrains on a landy.

Yes they are very rough sounding, its the designed in "character" that Yam thought they had to do so journo's didn't say its boring / too smooth / bland etc etc 270 deg crank ala TDM900 gives it the lumpy feel.
Riding without ear plugs can bring on servere paranoia

Fix with ear plugs... I like it
I normally ride with plugs but didn't yesterday as it was only a short blast to the bank and back via local yam dealer, who were very un-helpful as I didn't buy the bike from them, lots of shrugging of shoulders and tyre kicking which wound me right up as the bike is under warranty still and they'll still get paid.
Don't think I'll be going back there for any work inc servicing so their loss.

Just need to wait for the monsoon to stop so I can try again with plugs this time.

Me mate says the same about his 990 Adv R, sounds like a coke can full of pebbles without earplugs.

Rattles

Got to say just under 11,000 miles and yeah rattles, has done for a while, lovely machine to ride though. Maybe not quite as noisey as me other bike though.
