After test riding both the K1600GT SE and a 2012 GSA I placed an order for a new GSA TB yesterday

The K1600 was phenomenal, fitted with Akropovic cans it sounded like an F1 car and went like one too (compared to the GSA anyway), I had no issues with comfort, 6'8" and 36" inside leg even after an hour in the pissing rain. Weight disappears and it pulls like a train in any gear, the electric screen could have done with being a bit taller but on the fly adjustment was great.

However the GSA was much more comfy and familiar and just much more usable, oh and the tight steering lock on the K1600 made U turns very tricky. Compared to a 2008gsa the engine is smoother and accelerates much harder with loads more torque. I never hit the rev limiter once despite some fairly heavy use of the throttle, something that still catches me out on my bike.

Bottom line was the k1600 was just too expensive at nearly £3k (inc akro cans) more than a fully loaded GSA with enduro box, tinted screen, painted black tank panels, mudsling and fender extender. They are also moving some bits between bikes as part of the deal.

Should be here in a few weeks.

Lovely bike, I am sure you will love it. Why is it taking so long, dont they have any TB's in stock?

Enduro box and factory fit alarm. They could get it quicker and dealer fit the alarm but I'm away for two weeks so no rush.

By all accounts factory orders are taking longer for the TBs though apparently.

I was at Bahnstormer yesterday morning to test a GSA and the sales chap (John) happened to have his diary on the screen and I idly noticed a Steve Davis was testing both those bikes around lunchtime - nice to see the outcome!

Excellent choice! I got my new TB GSA on 28th June. It's a great bike, even having fun running it in in the rain.

See you on the roads
