I was told this today.
A colleague's daughter is a first year University student in Dublin. One of her friends, another student, was house sitting and caring for the family dog.
She returned one day and found the dog dead.
She contacted the vet, using the emergency phone numbers that she had been given, and the vet agreed to put the dog in the freezer until the family returned, but the student would have to get the dog to the vet.
She put the dead dog into a large suitcase with wheels, and using public transport made her way to the vet.
As she was getting off the LUAS, a man asked her if she needed a hand with what seemed to be a very heavy suitcase.
“What’s in the case?” he asked.
“Oh, it’s musical instruments” she replied.
And he then ran off with the case.
