Been playing bikes all weekend. Today saw a first stop at Boxhill and one red and two blues turn up. Took a blast down to Bognor Regis, stopped on the way and saw another blue. This evening after a long hoon I stop back at Boxhill again and another blue one turns up.

Blue - common.

Yesterday, out on a sports bike first thing, usual nods though it was pretty quiet. Out all afternoon on the GS and definitely less nods, especially from sports reps. Today out on a naked/streetfighter and plenty of nods. There's a definite don't nod at a GS thing.

So many bikes out today I was like the Churchill dog at one point.

Everybody and his Churchill dog was out today. Hard to find a spot to park at Fingchinfield......no boys in Blue though.

What I did notice was how many GS riders turned up with full alu luggage, water bottle, spare wheel, petrol can and satellite phone......just for a Sunday ride out from Basildon. Charlie and Ben Kanobi have a lot to answer for.

I rode about 200 miles today, did Salisbury Plain, and the New Forest, and counted two previous model 12GS's and loads of sports bikes, but NO new GS's. In fact, other than mine, I still haven't seen one on the road yet. I'm obviously going to the RIGHT places!

I thought the same thing, half the GSs on the road have full pannier and top box set up, probably 24x7. Especially if they are Zega or the like and covered in stickers saying you've swam the Panama Canal with the bike on your back.

I leave my 3 x Varios on all the time, handy when I pop in to the shops for a few bits, and somewhere to put the helmet. Also I can't be arsed to keep taking them off and putting them on depending what ride I'm doing.
No RTW bits though and no stickers.

I was in Finchingfield today - first time there, girlfriend riding pillion - surprised at how many bikes were there -struggled to find a spot to park my red (fastest colour) LC

I was there at 1ish with my red Wasserboxer. A number of riders asked about the changes and were impressed by the apparent finish quality.

Then the Harley, my exhaust is louder than yours, mob turned up so conversation impossible.

Yes, there is a Tea Room/meal cafe , pub etc. the police are often about to appease residents. Very attractive postcard picture village with duck pond and East end gangsters.

Being pretty local, I only tend to go there on days other than Sunday to avoid the rush. Attractive postcards villages look all the more attractive when not rammed with bikes. Then again, big bike gatherings have never appealed to me.

If you go want a spot of lunch (especially during the week when it us more peaceful) you could do worse than head up the hill from the pond to the Three Tunns. Run by husband and wife bikers and really nice food.

I was parked just up the hill from the Tea Room outside the little meeting rooms in between a trike and old Goldwing that had done 230,000 miles according to the owner on the original tyres, I bet, as well
