Hi Guys,

I have recently bought a 2000 1150GS (19,500 miles only!) and the bike is perfect apart from one little annoying thing.

Sometimes, when starting off from a standstill I get a double click noise, which I can only describe as "Schlick-Click". It doesn't happen every time and try as I might I cannot even make it do the noise on demand! It seems to be coming from the front of the bike.

It is driving me mad because I cannot pinpoint what it is.

Anyone got any helpful hints?

Cheers

Steve

Hi VFR,
This sounds like the ABS setting itself.
Do your ABS red warning lights extinguish as you pull away in time with the noise? If so then thats what it is and you have no worries.:thumb

my 1100rt stopped doing this after disconnecting the battery, but after a reset, its now "Schlick-Click" ing again:thumb

Its normal as andy gee says. I beleive its the 'ABS checking in' after starting and pulling away for the first time. The red ABS lights should also go out at the same time. It happens at a couple of mph as I understand the system needs the wheels rotating to self check.

My 1150 has done it all its life.

Thanks guys!!!!!!

Yes it is an ABS bike.

Now I know they all do that I can rest happily.

Now of out to go and play on her a little more.

Cheers

I wouldn't be too confident!!!!

Mine definately makes a "glunk clunk" not a "Schlick-Click" :D:D:D:D

Another "they all do that moment, you'll soon find about 1000 other ones :thumb
