down pipe /balance pip question

hi all
i my be getting some new / 2rd hand down pipes for my r100gs.
does it matter if i get ones with a balance pipe fitted ? as i have taken off the oil cooler and wont be fitting it back on any time soon

the ones fitted to my bike have a very short balance pip that goes over the top of the sides of the down pips and has started to rot out.


help is needed

Get ones with a balance pipe

best weld up the down pipes just now then start to save up as my wife will be unhappy if i spend 180 for some down pipes
