My 2005 1150 GSA has been running perfectly, but out of the blue I now only have "Residual" (for residual read "Feck all") :eek rear brake. As Dennis said "Stick your feet down - you'll stop faster". :D Luckily I've got into the habit of hardly using the back brake. It was fine the last time I put it away in the shed, but the next time I took it out the residual warning light came on immediately, ie before I'd even sat on it. The front brakes work perfectly. So what the hell happened when it was safely locked away that caused this? :nenau

It has been suggested that if I turn the ignition on and leave it for about 15 seconds it will "reset" but haven't had a chance to try it yet. Any suggestions if the "reset" doesn't work?

It is due a service soon, but I'm hoping to take it for a blat tomorrow.

Hang on, hang on, your rear bulb had blown and this caused the rear brake to fail?!?!? :eek
Or have I read it wrong?

When my rear light bulb blew it caused a brake warning lamp to go on (so I'd know to change the bulb, since the system uses dual voltages to get two brightness levels out of the remaining filament). Rear brake continued to work normally, like the manual says should happen.

Seriously? A blown bulb causes your brakes to fail?
They designed that in?
What else? A big feckin spike jumps out of the petrol tank to tell you you're low on fuel?

Brakes didn't fail, just a light came on to tell me the bulb was blown. No big deal, had to check the manual for what the warning meant 'cos I don't memorize these things...
