Anyone know what Garmin (Nuvi) Sat Navs are Mapsource compatible? I want to get one for my wife but would quite like to be able to download routes to it. Any help or advice would be appreciated..Tony

My nuvi 760 and 770 are both capable of this. So I assume that from the current models the 765T is equally capable. Check out the Garmin site for others that may be offer this facility.

Cheers anyway..Tony

Have you tried :nenau I can't see whey it shouldn't be... What was your source for that statement.

If not you should be able to save a route from Mapsource as a GPX file and load that as a route. The spec on the Garmin website says it can store 100 imported routes.

Hi Bumpkin, if you google it you will see there have been quite a few posts about this issue - apparently the 3700 series accepts waypoints but not routes from Mapsource - here are a couple of posts:

However, on the gpspassion forum there is a september post that says the following:

UPDATE - It appears that we finally have a commitment from Garmin to support manually created routes on the 37xx models. This appears in their FAQ now:

At this time the nuvi 3700 series does not have the ability to manually receive created routes from MapSource or any third party applications.

Garmin intends to add this functionality into the nuvi 3700 series via a software update sometime in the future. Current plans call for the update to be released in the first quarter of 2011.

Thanks for that, it's pretty poor when their flagship car model won't do what the lesser, mid range, Nuvis will.

The firmware must be distinctly different and I'd guess it was either an oversight or a case of rushing the product to market.

Hopefully the update will resolve it for you.
