Downloading Youtubes - best software?

I used to use 123CopyDVD to download Youtube vids, but it doesn't work now (on either of my PCs).

Anyone recommend an alternative?

There's an addon to Firefox that lets you do it with one click.

Look at the "Freemake" tools - rips the videos, or just the audio (to mp3 or other formats), convert videos, etc. brilliant and free software.

Thanks Bill, and lmg A much better source of recommendation than googling.

I've already started to use the Firefox add-on, which appears to be really easy as long as the vid isn't protected (it says).

Will try the "freemake" on my laptop (Chrome browser).
