A small number of you will have noticed this particular fault, and I dare say a large number will have not, OK discounting engine forces (torque reaction) a good deal of BMW bikes will pull to the right ( ok and a small amount to the left) it is particularly noticeable on GSs' due to the height and leverage available at the bar, now BMW allow 9mm of tolerance between centrelines front and rear (thats a f*&^%$£~ lot I here you say!) now mine is at 7.5mm which is inside the tolerances allowed but does piss me off after a long day in the saddle slightly countersteering my way home. Anybody out there got a quick fix coz the ones Ive heard about aint easy! As a foot note this is the second of 4 GS's affected by this fault that I have owned, which includes my current steed. Check yours out, find a flat straight and quiet bit of road take your hands off the bars nice and easy now, and see which way you go! I will not be held responsible for any accident claims resulting from this activity. If you become interested in this little topic then please get your bike 'Motoline' jigged and returned to BMW for repair if required. Good Luck

First I've heard of it....mine steers true at 100 with no hands on newish tyres.

You sure it's not that people seem to favour one side over the other in turns, thus wearing more and presumably changing the tyre profile to one side of the tyre??

Are you sure ?? I have tried riding with no hands coasting & my Bike tracks dead true if i lean left or right she follows my lead, You got a bent frame ???

Mine handles fine. I fit & balance my own tyres, I always go for a spin afterwards & take my hands off the bars at 50mph to ensure that all is well & there's no shaking.

I used to be able to go round roundabouts with no hands - then i dressed to the left and nearly tuned left out the drive

And I thought it was just me. Yes, I recently discovered that my bike leans to the right slightly. I can correct it with weight over the left side. I put it down to the wheels being offset rather than any torque reaction from the engine as the throttle had stuck (now fixed).

I have noticed this very slightly that my GS slightly drifts to the right..I thought I was sitting slightly skew-if but now put the old boy in the tank bag....

It's a chore but guys like us eh?

The drift doesn't worry me in the slightest as it is so slight....interesting though...

I had exactly the same problem, even took it to a couple of dealers who pronounced 'nothing wrong there sir' - I thought the bars might be bent as I always felt I was steering slightly left to go straight.
Changed the front tyre a couple of thousand miles ago and the problem went away. I can only presume it was either mounted slightly pi55ed or had worn unevenly.
If you're close to changing tyres it might be worth waiting, if not take it to a dealer you trust and ask them to re fit and be sure it's mounted true.

I was just testing the water here, it does seem as if only a small number of bikes are affected by this problem.
Thank you so much for all the ego boosting too!!!! but the bike will always 'Pull' more than I ever will (even In my dreams).
I will be interested to hear from any 1200GS owners of any misbehaviour, I have owned all the models from the gs family, and the two 1150s' I have owned seem to be the most naughty of the bunch (now now Missus).
The only thing I can add to the equation is if in doubt get the 'MOTOLINER JIG' out.

as far as i know, the Motoliner jig doesn't work on a BM paralever -- there's no frame to pull straight - you just replace the front section or rear section, as required, parts are cheap enough .

My 1200 goes perfectly straight when riding no hands (I like to stick my arms to the sides and pretend I'm flying a plane).
