Two black vent lines run from RH tank connector down to just behind starter motor

I had similar, ie smell, but no drips

Have you overfilled the tank, or left it outside in the sun?

Hi mart
No because not been on it all winter .so about 60 miles left on clock .it seems to drip when bike is turning over but stops when i cut engine. Its only a very slight drip.

The fuel regulator sits above the engine in front of the ABS block. A leak from a pipe around there will drip down on the left of the bike.

Will have a look over weekend will it be a bigish job as i know nothing about fixing bikes..thanks lads

Mine (07 GS) does the same if I brim it and then park it up. I have done the filler neck mod I.e. Removed the rubber bit and drill two holes in the neck for venting air. If it does start dripping I just release any pressure build up by opening the fuel cap and closing it again. If I know I'm going to be doing less than 10 miles after filling up I don't brim it.
The filler neck mod allows me to get an extra couple of litres in the tank giving about 25 miles further range.
