I washed the bike yesterday, getting it ready for a pre-winter overhaul. Whilst I did use a pressure washer, I regulated the pressure so as to avoid driving water into bearings or final drive. Whilst cleaning the underside of the bike this morning, I noticed the newly fitted drain valve doing its job, with water dripping from it. I was surprised that despite more soaking the bike with no more pressure than a hosepipe spray head, water had still managed to make its way in. Now I'm wondering if when refitting the drive shaft housing, they didn't regrease it properly so will feed that back to them. The inspection report mentioned final drive was corrosion free and dry. I now doubt that's the case going forward!

Inspecting the underside casings after a thorough clean, happily, I noted that the Lanoguard applied two years back has done its job. Zero corrosion even where stone-chips have removed the paint in places, exposing the alloy casings. Anyone who's not yet tried Lanoguard is highly recommended to. It seems to be the only coating that lasts ages and does its job well. Thoroughly reapplied it after cleaning everything off, taking care to avoid tyres/brakes, then wiping excess off after 15 minutes. Good as new!
