DROPPED GS

Hi,

I recently dropped my GS, the cylinder head cover has a few scratches and pits but no leaking oil or anything else and the bike engine seems to run ok, is there likely to be any real damage?

I'm afraid it's almost certainly a write off.

Probably not if how often they get dropped at low speed on the off-road course is anything to go by.

I assume the engine was not running (for too long) on the side?

The engine was not running at all, i was just pushing out of the garage, slipped on a bit of loose gravel and before i knew it the bike was on its side.

thanks you your help - i will try and get some of the guys to go for a ride to bakewell thats if i can get out of the bathroom tiling, a bakewell tart always smooths the way with the wife.

Do the decent thing man and put it out if it's misery...........

On the off road school I dropped one about 6 times, with the engine running, the worst in about 18 inches of liquid S**t.
No problems what so ever so I very much doubt there is anything harmed except your nerves

There will always be a nagging doubt in the back of your mind regarding the reliability now. Best sell it to me for £25
