If you stall them their going over,paint is hard to match tried various silvers non are perfect. Check E Bay motor-uk £70 for the left hand side, they look Ok but from China (might be shite)

I dropped a Harley RK off it's stand about ten years ago. I managed to pick it up (just!)
Dropped my GSA last winter. Couldn't budge it. (not sure if its me getting older or they are just feckin heavy).
A factor could be, the RK has a much lower center of gravity than the GSA, despite the RK being the weight of a grand piano.
I was fortunate that I dropped the GSA in front of my own house, so was assisted by a neighbour. Its crossed my mind if I would have been in a remote area alone, the bike would have been on its side until a friendly passer by turned up.
I've had the GSA over a year now and started to question myself on the wisdom of owning a bike I cant manage should it become horizontal.
Its a shame because its a great bike, probably one of the best I've owned.

Epoxy works for a 'get you home' repair (I've done it - 5 minute epoxy and women's cotton wool make-up removal pads - makes a great composite) but I'm not sure I'd want to depend on it long term.

There but for the grace of god go us Bendy. I dropped my GSA while doing some slow mo practice a while ago 
. 1mph full lock right turn, bloody thing just fell over but I managed to jump clear. It was still running so the adrenaline kicked in and I had it upright in about 2 seconds 
Don't have a clue how I managed but I did. Some small marks on the alloy head protector and scuffs on the engine bars but hey they add "character" dont they

Mine had some "character" when a mate lowsided it into a lefthand switchback in France at the start of July, it had some extra "character" added when the tyres dug in and flipped it over onto the opposite side................... I'm still dealing with the mess!!!

Ive put an advert in Wanted and will check out www.eBay.de.
This is my fix for now. The cover top side was pushed inwards but the spark plug tunnel stayed put. Results is many cracks including two hairline cracks below the plug tunnel. It's supported (not really mended) with epoxy putty and metal loaded epoxy glue with a bit of aluminium reinforcement over a triangular fragment.

Does anyone know if the 2004 to 2007 GS covers will fit the 08 Adventure? The paint colour is wrong but that can be sorted.

This is when engine bars are worth there weight in gold.
No damage done
Just took two of us to pick up as was laying downhill.....
Note fully loaded topbox & panniers plus tent and gear strapped to pillion seat.
It even broke the road!!!
Could have spun the bike around on the cylinder head to get the wheels down hill; and also taken the luggage off. That way one person could recover a bike in this situation.
I do agree, but due to a severe fit of the giggles closely followed by extreme laughter I wasn't thinking straight. Besides I couldn't be bothered and as my mate stood there..........
I can see how the cover would crack under impact, very thin compared to R1150.
I haven't dropped mine yet but might put it down on the ground this weekend and practice lifting it on my own.

Sorry to hear this BT, it's easily done particularly mid stall.
My 2013 GSA Triple Black is far from unrideable but I am always having to be ultra careful with it so I have decided it will be one of the two bikes that are to go (the other is my K100RS 16v). I shall keep the r100r as the weight is more suited to my dodgy right knee (currently playing up again as if to emphasise the point).
I hope you find your part soon.

Another vote for crashbars... I just got back from a trip to the Dolomites and dropped it doing a U-turn on a narrow / steep uphill section trying to use a gravel layby on the side to make the turn - poor judgement but I was tired towards the end of the day (my excuse). No chance to stop it once I lost momentum and went over hard on the LHS (similar to the pic above).
First time I've dropped this one after 5 years and 28k miles but the Touratwat bars were fantastic - hardly a scratch on the bike the bars took almost all of the impact.

I've found a used cover for £40 on eBay. I'll also be getting some Machine Art X covers.
Then I'm after some made to measure non sticky out lower crash bars.
Yes in a crash the covers will take the hit but standard GSA engine bars are far from good enough. They bend back and point load the cylinder head risking very expensive indeed damage.
I might fit some 2mm aluminium skid plates to the Machine Art covers. They won't make much difference in a proper crash but cheap to replace when I do another car park drop.
