Went out briefly today to buy a new open faced helmet.

Got home, and forgot I had the helmet box on the back of the bike, and caught my foot as I went to get off, without putting the side stand down like I usually do.
Dropped the bike on the driveway, and broke my left mirror……..BUGGER!

I haven’t dropped a bike in years, so was a bit pissed off at myself as it was my own stupid fault.
New mirror ordered from Motorworks. ( and put a crappy one onto the bike until the proper one arrives, so not the end of the world really.)

Not a great start to the long weekend.

Went for a replacement open faced shoei j0…..
my old one was past it’s best, and was due to be replaced….so just went for the same again.
Comfy, fits me weird shaped head.

Im trying to get into the habit of climbing on and off the bike using the footpeg with the sidestand down , but i still had to take the rear rack off of the g/s because i kept catching it with my foot.

To be fair, if your side stand snaps there isn't much you can do.

Im 6'4" and still havent found a way to successfully throw a leg over without scuffing the seat or kicking box/panniers
left foot on peg and throw the leg over seems the only way.

all my life its been sportsbikes which are lower to start with and never had boxes on the back.
