Was reading another post on here and realised that so far I HAVENT dropped my current GS .
Was wondering is this a problem ?
Will it affect the resale ?

Any suggestions on the best way to drop it ? examples I was thinking about were

lean over to pick something up off the ground whilst stationary ?

or do you really need to be moving to do it properly ?

any suggestions appreciated:ronno

Facing downhill in neutral on the side stand is good. Even better when parked close to other bikes causing a domino effect.:D

You might have now invoked "sod's law" :blast

IMO 1st gear is the best for dropping it . I did try 2nd a few times but never managed ??? and you can always blame something to have caused it;)

Dropping a parked bike is no joy at all , it's kind of a:blast moment and the only thing you can blame for it is gravity .......

ha - this is a good one

True story - and because I am mostly stupid and not too proud to admit it - a good way to drop your bike is with `enthusiam` - my CB1300 needed to go on to the side side so I flicked it out and with the said enthusiam pulled the bike towards me to plant it on the side stand.

Guess what?

oh yeah baby.

The side stand wasn`t down! :blast

But with a GS I think it just enhances the resale value.....................

river

The best place to drop one of these is into the river, once the ripples and air bubbles have subsided you can walk away, the bike will dissolve within weeks and so making your insurance claim much more likely to succeed....leaving you free to join team Orange...:augie:rolleyes:
