dublin airport parking

THE 1200'S don't seem to be targeted by the the local thieving scum as they won't be able to start them.. Watch out for your removable parts though (luggage, mounts etc).
Maybe leave helmet in "Left luggage" as a precaution?

As for cheap? Been a few months since I've been there but the new barriers are now unmanned :augie (you know whadda I mean)

Best advice is don't, but if you must there used to be a few places in Block A where bikes would park. Haven't been there on the bike in a long time so don't know if that still applies.

Kev and I have parked there on about 6 occasions in the past 6-8 months and left the bikes for up to 3days. No probs at all. Bike fits round the barrier, park up, lock up and go.

No charge, cameras everywhere. There are 3 different places to park in Block A, immediately on the left as you come in the barrier, at the far wall beside pedestrian access to Arrivals, and on the left as you leave Block A.

HTH:)

I was up there only a couple of weeks ago & I had the same question. So I gave the parking department a call in the airport & they told me to go around the barrier & just to keep the bike out of the way, I was supprised but they were very nice about it & helpful.
So there is plenty of space to get around the barriers on the big bikes. Just make sure that you dont use a car space or they will prob go make your life hell.
When you go in you will see the other bikes parked up in there.

I'm doing the same tomorrow. This thread gives loads of info: http://www.biker.ie/forum/showthread.php?t=72656&highlight=airport
Particularly this post:
i work in de airport (electrical) until recently was workin in car parks. i'd personally go to block c and lock it to the barriers there on the left at the entrance. there are cameras around but still no where is 100% safe! just drive thru gap between barrier on exit simple!!

But just wondering, is there much room to get around the barrier? I'll be on a fully loaded GSA with a pillion!

Yep! We've gone thru on Kev's bike fully loaded! Hand luggage out of panniers, bike gear into panniers, helmets locked on the chain, away you go!

Enjoy wedding planning:thumb

:augie

Heading to the bike show tomorrow and was thinking of leaving the bike there rather than getting a bus out. Surely no-one will want to nick a '98 1100GS?

Cheers for the info.

Cheers. Just fitted a new top box, so we can fit both helmets in the bike:)

There are hundreds of Buses going from every part of the Country to the
Airport several times a day. Not to mention the Buses that leave the
City center every minute .

BETTER BY BUS

As Sally o Brien would say if you had a bus . some of us have more to be doing ! People to see , calls to make . + sometimes you just want to ride .

This is unbelieveable .

Because it's quicker on the bike,
because it's very unlikely there'd be the sort of traffic that'd delay a bike an cause you to miss your flight,
because you can park closer to Departures than when you're on a bus,
because the bike'll be there waiting for you when you land,
because the bike'll bring you straight home and not to a point that you'll have to get another bike or taxi home from.

But not from my house.

Not to mention the Buses that leave the
City center every minute .

But I'm not leaving from the city centre.

I was at the airport twice this week, i think i can safely say I'm never getting a bus to the airport again! Parked inside block c, just in on the left they have a big area with a few other bikes, barriers are spaced out enough to get between and perfect to lock to. So handy taking the bike to the airport! Makes it a lot cheaper too.

I went to Portugal last week with the girls:D left my bike at the airport from wed to sun.

Kev decided to pick me up in the van so he went out a bit early with spare keys, parked the van up, went in and got my bike and when he got back to the van there were 2 guards saying 'wot ya doing??'

Good to know they're keeping an eye:thumb

Right - for anyone looking for accommodation and a safe place for your bike near Dublin airport; Rolestown Farm B&B is the spot. Linda and Richard are the owners, had a home cooked meal on arrival, one of the best Breakfasts I’ve had, lift to the airport, collected on arrival AND stored the bike in their shed during the week I was away. The bed was like a 4-5 star hotel…hidden gem, just don’t book it next time I’m going!
