Go straight to Goal do not pass go

Kilmainham Gaol well worth a visit . Sobering place especially the outer yard. Felt pretty haunted to me.

Easy to reach via the city tour bus

Nice to see the steps Noel Coward walked down in the original Italian Job.

No NO NNNNOOO

Looking forward to a couple of bottles of Guiness on Saturday night :JB[/QUOTE]

NOT bottles of Guinness. Drink the Draught:beerjug:

There has been a recent increase in sales of the large bottles of Guinness lately. A barman in The Stags Head told me they cant keep up with demand!

If you're a music lover jump on the DART out to howth and go see Phil Lynott's grave at the Sutton stop. Ex president Charley Haughey is buried in the same graveyard. It's interesting to see as Haughey has a massive granite grave huge headstone and surround. Phil Lynott has only a small plaque on the ground - no headstone or surround. Howevre Lynott's grave is teaming with fresh flowers, memorabilia and all sorts of things left by admiring fans. There was not a plastic flower on Haughey's grave the day I was there.:augie

Make you think what sort of impact they had on Irish society???!!!!

The big bottles are nicer than the draught stuff

They are, fizzy on the tongue like a lager but with a nice nutty taste, got to be cold out the fridge though.

Thanks to Flash Of The Gap for showing me the light

Walk from Phoenix Park along the banks of the river Liffey to the new Thomas Beckett bridge the one that looks like a Harp on it's side.Cross the bridge and walk back take a camera. Get a breakfast roll along way allow 2 hours.
Just done that this morning also saw about 100+ red deer in Phoenix park never ever seen so many.:augie:comfort:beerjug:

Walk from the papal cross, yank ambassador's residence in the Phoenix Park down to end of the park via the main road and then along along the banks of the river Liffey to the new Thomas Beckett bridge, the one that looks like a Harp on it's side.Cross the bridge and walk back to the wellington monument take a left and then follow the road all the way around to St.Mary's Hospital and then turn right back up to the papal cross. Oh and take a camera. Get a breakfast roll along way allow 4 hours.

now wouldn't that be a bit better.:thumb2

It was lovely!

Dublin

Been there three or four times got worse on every visit, prices went up an up
Take the DART and go out of town to Arklow,Wicklow Or if you has to stay see whats on at Vicar street, Dont!! go to thunder road It used to be great now Shite. Dont go Temple Bar, Shite, Dont pour fairy liquid in the "Floozey in the Jacuzzi" But see as much of Ireland as you can. I did and I loved it "Emerald Isle Tour 2002" with Judge Pete Oh and if Christy Moore is Playing dont miss him

This is a great city, you will have a ball of a time. The Porter House, The Long Hall all mentioned are great pubs. Boardwalk cafes along the Liffey have nice coffee and great cookies and cakes. Phoenix Park is a lovely spot for a walk to clear your head on a Sunday morning. Temple Bar is pricey and full of hen & stag parties but maybe that's what your looking for.
Thunder Road is in Temple Bar food is ok, by no means 5* but doesn't cost the earth. Some bottled beers and cocktails under a fiver again not everones tastes. You won't find bottled guinness in there that's for sure.
Whatever you do enjoy it :aidan
