Dumb key

Hi. If anyone is considering a 'dumb' key for their luggage/seat/sat nav I just had one cut at Timpson.

They were most helpful and found that their stock Ducati blank is the same key type. Cost £8.40ish and works perfectly.

Interesting. My local Timpsons did not want to know even though i was prepared to supply a blank if needed.

Still cost me £15 from an independent with me supplying the blank.

I've just ordered one from my dealer for my 1250 GSA.
Also had one for my previous bike. Found it very convenient, therefor I have ordered one also for my new bike.

Last time that I got the dummy key, I checked for alternatives. There are other blank keys that may work. I found some keys that where pretty close, but even if not 100% similar, they may have worked.

However, buying the dummy and paying for the copying, the the total cost would have been close to the OEM dummy key, which is made from the VIN number on the bike with an exact fit, and which is fairly strong against abuse,

So, for my 1250 I didn't even bother to check for alternatives.
