anyone had any two up experience of these tyres? I've got 3K miles on the rear at the moment, and about to do about a 2.5K to 3K miles round the alps two up with luggage. Worth getting them changed before I go you think? The rear has a good few mm of tread left, but looks a little worn down in the middle.

I'm guessing its probably better to just get them done anyways so at least I don't have to worry about it.

Switched the rear at 6k, it was still legal but it was in for a service so swapped it anyway. At 3k your only at about 40% worn so you should be fine. Still in the alps you will be on the side of the tyre more of the time:D

I've now switched to D220 ST which over the last 4k have be great, would be a far better road touring tyre than the D607 if you decide to switch. Plus the front has a tram line tread like the 020's which is less prone to stepping.

Hi I only got 3,500 miles out of my tire, the last 500 miles used 3mm of tread
there are obviously tire dealer where you are going
If you have to change it while away go to a bike shop and change it.

Been using them since they came out.

I'm getting anything from 5000 - 6500 miles from a rear and twice that from the front. They are a fairly soft compound so they wear, and if you're doing lots of upright miles they square off and get very twitch on the normal 'issues' on the road.

So, I suspect that your rear will be quite OK for your trip but might be borderline on your return.

cheers, I think on my own I'd leave it, but I'm worried being two up will add to the wear.

I think I'll change them before I go so at least they are nice and new for the twisties

Don't forget you can always change the rear mid trip before you get to the good stuff.
