I've been running Dunlop Pilot Roads on my 12 for the past year and have generally been pretty impressed with their wet weather performance, however a while ago Dunlop introduced the Pilot Road 2 but not in sizes for the GS. (Front wheel).
Anybody know why not?
Do Dunlop feel there is a potential problem with this type of tyre on a GS?
I think tyres are like any technology, they are constantly evolving/improving so I'm a bit loathe to buy another set of original Pilot Roads when their technology has been superceded by the PR 2.
My only (small) gripe with the originals was perhaps a lack of dry grip at the rear although any slides always seemed fairly predictable. What about using a PR2 on the back (which is available) and an original on the front?

Errr.............. think you'll find they are made by Michelin :nenau

If you go on the Michelin website they recommend either Anakees or Pilot Roads.

Yes yes ok semantics.....bit early for me sorry!

I e-mailed Michelin recently, having used their excellent Pilot Road 2 tyres on my previous bike. There are apparently 'no plans at present' to produce a PR2 for the GS.... you can buy a back but not a front, so not a lot of use. If you want to go down the road tyre route, a lot of folk recommend the Conti Road Attacks, which do fit the 1200GS. When my Annakees wear out, I'll probably give the Contis a try.
