Yet another tyre thread

My Battlewings are now shagged and replacements are needed [1].

I want to go back to using pure road tyres and am very impressed with what I've heard about the new Dunlops - I'm guessing that not many peeps on here will have had a chance to try them yet as I understand the the 19" front is only just now becoming available but, well, has anybody tried them yet? What did you think?

[1] 6,000 miles if anybody is interested - they are the first tyre I have used (on any bike) where the front and rear have both worn out at the same time. I usually get two rears to one front.

Just ordered a pair and having them fitted Weds.

I'll update on what I think of them when I get some miles on.

Might have to wait a bit longer.................just got a phone call as I got home tonight and apparently Dunlop have said that the first batch of 19" tyres are being made this week and hope to have them delivered out by the weekend - we'll see.............

I have just ordered a pair to be fitted on Saturday they didn't say there was any problems with supply Hope they let me know if there is?

I hope you're right - would you mind double checking, if you get the chance, and confirm they are in stock please. Having read your post I rang my fitter to see if there was any news and his supplier has now told him he can't give him a date for delivery

I have just ordered a pair of roadsmarts and my fitter expects them to arrive tomorrow. He rang around to check availability for several tyre options and (to my surprise) found that the dunlops were in stock. Fingers crossed, should be fitted on Saturday and will be driven to Lyon and back next week.

Maybe it's a North/South divide thang I've just spoken to another fitter up here and he has phoned both the mjor distributers that supply the East Mids and both have told him the same thing - no stock and no dates

Tyre company rang back this afternoon to say they can't get a front tyre only a rear. I have had to change my order to BT020's

Bugger, sorry to hear that - looks like a nationwide thing then.

I can hang on a couple of more weeks but after that will have to get something else.

Well, my 'Roadsmarts' turned up and they were actually D220s, which is what the Roadsmarts are replacing. I contacted Dunlop via their website and got an email back saying that the GS size Roadsmarts will not be available until September/October. Apparently the roadsmart range has been so popular that the factory is very busy and the introduction of the GS sizes has therefore been put back.

I have fitted some Avons instead.
