Dunlop RoadSmart III's

I've put these on my bike 1k miles ago, I like them a lot, good in the rain!
I use my bike for a 60 miles daily commute to London! Very stable a three figure speeds as well.....
Haven't tried two up, but I carry quite a lot of weight in my top box, and they are very quite.
You don't need to ride them in either! well I didn't.....

I've been considering these for my 1150GSA so your wee review is quite timely - thanks! :)

I got mine from FWR in Kennington, 5mins from the elephant and castle!
Hope that it might help.

I went for a run the other day. Started at 7.30am at 5 deg C, dropped to 2, then rose up to about 9. Home by 5pm after abt 600km at strangely 5 deg C. Warm as toast with my Venture heated jacket liner. And yep Fredarooney this is in Aus. BTW the Anakee 3's did the job admirably. I don't think that they are going to sell Roadsmarts to Aus in the sizes for the GS??

I used to live in Melbourne and remember it well. Of course being Australia the distributor for Dunlop is not going to bring in the 19" front we need.

Having some SP IIIs fitted today to my 1200 GSA before heading for France/Spain Pyrenees in just over a week.

I hadn't heard of SPs so looked it up and found this on an MCN review.

"touring rivals the new Dunlops now come in two versions. There’s a standard Roadsmart III, with a two-ply rear construction, for heavier machines, like big sports tourers and adventure bikes. The Roadsmart III ‘SP’ has a single-ply rear and will suit lighter bikes, like nakeds, roadsters and mid-capacity sportsbikes (dealers will carry fitment charts)."

I'd have thought the 1200GSA is considered a heavier machine ?

Just bought a pair so hope they are OK. Unlike many of you on here not been impressed with PR 4 , never lost grip or slipped out but they just dont feel "good " , I seem to remember quite a few years ago I felt very happy with Avon ,cant remember now what they were but I always felt happy with them ,they probably didnt grip half as good as the latest generation of tyres but I have tried many different makes since then and they all feel a bit dead but grip well . Does that make any sense at all? Didnt want to go back to Avon again as their XM gets pretty bad reviews particularly in the wet. Time will tell .

I have had the RSIII's on for about 5000km now.
Commuting, light touring, mountain carving - the tires have been fantastic.
The rear has started to square off a bit, but i have been doing ALOT of motorway riding lately (with luggage, top box, etc...)
As the rear squares, it has a tendency to whine a bit & turning in requires slightly more force.
However a day of curvy mountain riding quickly sorted things out!

Compared to the PR4´s my bike feels more planted, secure and stable with the RSIII´s.
Commuting-wise, the RSIII´s are head and shoulders above the PR4´s. The bike doesn´t try to follow road inconsistencies and filtering/tight maneuvers seem easier.
I would say that the PR4´s felt slightly better in the wet. But only marginally and not enough to sway my opinion….
I highly rate the RSIII´s & will be using these as the ´go-to´ tire for my GSA.

Just had my GAS fitted with the RSIIIs and looking forward to setting off for the Pyrenees this weekend.

Well you certainly got some curves in down that La Calobra, plenty of hairpins going down there.

Thats exactly where we were. And then took the old mountain road from Soller to Palma...

Im giving the Dunlop Radsmart 3 a try, getting one fitted today on the rear of my 09 GSA, £115 fitted at TT Tyres.

Only got 3000miles from my Michelin PR4 so won't be buying those again
