Looks like i need some new rubber. To honest i had not noticed until a kind chap had pointed out that both front and rear tyres were starting to square off ( thanks Johnny ). Now it could be a pigment of my colourful imagination but i think it's started to effect the handling of the bike ( again thanks Johnny ).
Time for a change. Given that if i go off road it will be unintentionally i think a more road biased tyre is in order.
And now to my question what sort of money should i be paying to have the Roadsmarts fitted ? Does not have to be the cheapest. Just looking for reasonable price. In or around weggie land. Ta:aidan

get them sent up and then get some dafty to fit them :thumb2

Or if you can get the original tourance, as it's just the exp's that are shite :thumb2
Another good tyre Continental ContiRoadAttack
Cheapest place I have got tyres was Fairbairns in Ayr

What Sizes ?

Glad someone put this on as thinking about a set myself. But what sizes are people using ? is there any variation over whats fitted already, any recommendations etc ?

There's just one 19" size as far as I'm aware for the Roadsmarts - I fit the standard rear size as well.

Straight replacement for originals. You can spring for 17" wheel conversion but too much money & hassle IMO. Also asked about Michelin Pilot Road 3 however was told by dealer that they are not available in out standard 19" 17" as yet.:D

I paid £205 for my last pair (fitted to loose wheels) and as the wheels are so bloody easy to take out of the GS compared to every other bike I have ever owned.

Decisions decisions. Jim allens £246 fitted on bike for a set of Roadsmarts or £195 Tourance ( not EXP ) fitted on bike special offer at motorrad.:D

Meant to say that Motorrad Central would not quote me on Roadsmarts as they cannot fit them. Their reason - only certain tyres are on BMW's approved list ( for the GS1200 ) Conti attack, Battlewing, Tourance and Anakee. From some posts on other parts of this site it appears BMW dealers will fit Roadsmarts. So what gives ?:aidan

Go for the standard Tourance :thumb2

maybe not as much mark up on the roadsmarts

Motorrad Central utter bollx..........

Road Smarts are the dogs, much better than OE.

I've had Battlewings, Conti Trail Attacks but the Dunlops are miles better, grip levels are amazing, having another set fitted this Sat , £465 including 18,000 service on my 2010 GSA , AND my dealer's fitting them!

The buxxer quoted me £230 yesterday, claiming all Dunlops are expensive. Booked in for end of week as my old rear is totally gone. Will be interesting to compare after Tourances.

New boots on. Bike turning easier than before. I guess this kinda creep up with the wear of old tyre ( front was starting to square ). It's not until the new rubber is fitted that you notice a difference. Scrubbed in they are confidence inspiring. Especially for a big fearty like me. :aidan
