Dunlop TR91 on F800GS

Giles recommended them to me and I was very happy, not on a 800 though. Giles ran them on his 1200 and myself on a 990 Adventure

Not sure if that helps you though :D

hi Andy, had TR91 on both our bikes, f650gs, and absolutely loved them. not one bad thing to say about them. They came out #1 in german tyre test too.
BUT since I am riding mostly on roads I now fitted Michelin PR4"s. Well, that's another tyre altogether, didn't think any tyre could outperform the dunlops, but these do. Especially on wet slippery roads. Read the tests! Now, enjoy your bike. Hans

TR91?

Nice tyre, good road grip dry and wet. Worked well on the Irish dual carriageways and bits of gravel.

Seems to be a softish compound and wears fairly quickly. Back squared off well within 5k miles. I've moved on to Trail Attack 2's which Magnet uses on her's. They seem to have similar grip characteristics but last a bit longer.

Thanks for input, much appreciated. My riding in mainly road, so will investigate the PR4's.

Am currently on the Cont 2's , happy with their performance, but front tyre is showing signs of splitting near the tread pattern and was not impressed with Continentals response.

Is this the Trail Attack 2? I seem to remember having a similar splitting issue with the Trail Attack 1's on a Triumph Tiger some years back. Thing is I forgot all about it until I saw your post and have just had TA2's put on my 800GS, love the tyres performance though on tarmac and a fair bit cheaper than Annakees or similar, Ill have to keep an eye on them, how many miles on that tyre out of interest.

Hi Timbox, yes TA2, about 6k now, first noticed splitting at about 4k. I've been keeping an eye and not being much worse but time for a change. Shame, I like the tyres' performance.

ok Andy, Im only on about 2k at the moment and the tyres look fine but Ive done some digging and it wasnt the Tiger I had the problem with but a BMW R1100S with Conti Road Attacks, but the splitting was very similar??

I've had loads of Cont Trail Attacks, never had a problem..

I think you may have been unlucky with your front.
