Has anyone had any problems useing stick on labels....CD stomper style....on DVDs ? I have used these on CD roms many times without any problems, but have been warned off useing them on DVDs. Can't see the problem myself, but, who knows ?

Thanks for any help

There are some reports that a stick on label on a dvd can cause problems with balance at the normal spin speeds of DVD drives. In general, stick on labels are neither perfectly centred or evenly weighted. There were also some reports with the faster CD drives of the same thing.

I suggest a suck it and see approach if you are recording for yourself - write a couple, label them, see if your drive protests. I wouldn't use them for disks going out to drives you have no idea about - cheap drives could puke on a badly balanced disk.

Cheers Trotsky.... that pretty much confirms what I have heard. I have decided not to bother.

Thanks again.
