Hi,

Can anyone help me find out how I can transfer a .avi file onto a video tape? If it helps I have a DVD burner on my PC.

Thanks in advance

Windows Movie Maker

1. If your PC graphics card has a video output, you could link this and the audio out to the AV input on your VCR.
or 2. import the .avi file into Moviemaker which comes free with XP and then burn it to a DVD

Thanks for the reply. I can't find Moviemaker or a lead which connects my PC to my VHS. I have, however, found out that a neighbour has a machine with a DVD and video player in it.

I thought I'd use that so I burnt the .avi onto a CD but it won't play. Now I'm using DivX to convert the .avi file to "Home Theater" whatever that is. It's taking hours...

Can anyone tell me if this is going to work? What format I should burn the file in and onto what media?

Thanks

In XP, have a look under Programs>Accessories for Moviemaker

Right, I've got the thing onto a dvd. Any tips on transfering to video? Can I plug a scart from a dvd to a vhs?

Yeah, no problem. Not sure if you need a full 21 pin scart to do it, though. The cheap ones you get with some equipment do not have full connectivity.
