I think my DVD writer is kaput.

It won't finish the writing process when I burn pics/music to disk.

Anyone suggest a decent writer to fit my dell PC?

Sam

I'd strongly recommend using one of the latest Pioneer Drives.
I've used other brands of drives such as Lite-On and NEC/Sony/Optiarc but I personally don't think either of them are as good as Pioneer.

It would be worth you checking what sort of connection your current DVD Writer is using. It will either be SATA or IDE. Obviously if your current drive is SATA then buy a SATA Drive, otherwise buy an IDE drive
I have attached examples of an IDE and a SATA cable so you may decide for yourself which one yours is.
