After about a year out of the saddle I got my well rested (and maintained) 1200GS (2005) serviced and on the first decent ride out got a set of flashing reds warning me of brake fail, a new DWA low battery indicator and am having difficulty finding neutral. Never experienced any of them in several years of ownership. Back to the mechanic yesterday and now find out I've got a drive shaft problem too. What a return to riding.

Not a happy (Easter) bunny and awaiting the dreaded £££ call on Tuesday.

Thats sad mate. Was the battery on a chrager while standing?
Too often hear of shaft woes. Hope it doesn't cost too much.

Prognosis not good

Thanks dude and yes the battery was on an optimiser throughout. Looking like a new drive shaft and big bill. Gutted.

Cheers for the DWA heads up, thankfully the interweb had demystified that one in advance so I was prepared I just wish that was the worst of my GS issues.

Hopefully the drive shaft problem can be fixed inexpensively as mine was without having to replace it. There are alternatives to having a main dealer simply replacing the Final Drive if that's what it turns out to be.

Well I'm going down the non dealer route and have been advised it's shaping up for £600 + using second hand parts so it's not great. Trouble is not being mechanically knowledgeable I'm totally reliant on my trusted mechanic.
