Here is an image of two dyno power runs done on an 05 GS1200 (in red) and an 08 GSA1200 (in Blue). The 05 was done 2 years ago and the 08 recently. Take what you want from this and I am aware of the time and atmospheric changes and obviously the 08 has the newer 105bhp engine.

Both bikes were on the same full Remus exhaust (inc headers) with baffle in.

The 08 GSA engine produces more power at the top end but less power lower down. In fact the 08 produces a significant amount more power from 4000rpm upwards. The 08 produced 102.5 at back wheel and the 05 95.9bhp at peak power.

The 08 also runs very lean lower down and lean all throughout the rev range to meet emmisions regs no doubt, so lean that it was a worry. You can see the difference in power and torque on the top graph and the air/fuel mix on the lower. The red dotted line on the lower graph is the ideal mix at 13.5.

I have removed the Remus end can from my 08 GSA and replaced the OEM end can and will not be changing it back due to the lean running. I noticed that the Remus end can got very hot, much hotter than any other Remus I have run. Also the reg plate started to melt where the gas was hitting it and I didn't enjoy the noise as much as the OEM.

I was hoping to add the dyno graph with Remus header and OEM can but time is short so please wait a while, it will be done.

I am no expert and these are my thoughts only and applied to my bike, yours may be different. I have no problems with Remus generally and the bike runs great with just headers and OEM can.

Hope this helps.

That KTM graph looks amazingly smooth, are you sure it was just a pipe change? Never ridden a KTM, but linear power is meant to be great. Does it have character though?

For "character" read a great bit dead patch in the middle to pass noise and emission tests.
